Other than a collection of UFP Bombers, the Longsword is the Coalition's mainstream Fighter-Bomber craft. When compared to the Falken 2 it is slower less manuverable and only slightly better armed. The craft is in the process of being retired with all its current users, and is quickly being replaced by Hellcat Squadran's XB-500. However, the Longsword was still in use by the Resurrectal War, due to the fact that it could also function as an armed dropship, with a capacity comparable to the Pelican Dropship.
Despite the advent of better fighters, the UNSC, around 2150, still utilized the GA-TL1.
